The mountains of Snowdonia make up most of Gywnedd, the foremost bastion of Welsh language and culture, but the area also includes the island of Anglesey to the north and the Llyn Peninsula to the west. Both are very different in topography from the mountain heartland. The guide contains a route up Snowdon itself, one of the easier of several alternatives, using the Pyg Track on the outward journey and the Miners' Track on the return. There is also an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of the medieval pilgrims on their way to Bardsey Island, starting from Aberdaron and going to the tip of the Lleyn Peninsula the 'Land's End' of Wales.
