Born in New York in 1957, Fabio studied at Cornell
University and graduated with a Masters degree in natural resources policy and
planning.
Ever interested in conservation and humanitarian projects,
he founded the Europe Conservation, a European non-profit organisation that
specialises in providing volunteers to small conservation projects in
developing countries. Author of the best-selling Green Volunteers, the
World Guide to Voluntary Work in Nature Conservation, he is also active in
the humanitarian field and among the founders of the First Italian Ethical

His expertise in conservation volunteering has
since allowed him to co-edit, together with Erin McCloskey, other volunteering
guides including World Volunteers, The World Guide to Humanitarian and
Development Volunteering, and Archaeo-Volunteers. Married and
with a daughter, Fabio lives and works in Italy.
